What hosted VoIP is
Hosted VoIP replaces the traditional office phone system with a cloud-based service. Instead of a phone system box in a cupboard and lines tied to your building, your phone system runs on a hosted platform and calls travel over your internet connection. Desk phones, mobile apps and desktop apps all connect to it, so your team can answer the business number wherever they are.
For businesses still on older phone lines, it is also a timely change. The UK's old analogue and ISDN phone networks are being switched off, and hosted VoIP is the natural replacement.
Who it is for
Hosted VoIP suits almost any business with more than one person answering the phone, and particularly:
- Hybrid and remote teams who need to take calls from home or on the move without giving out personal numbers.
- Businesses with several sites, which can share one phone system, transfer calls between offices and present a single number.
- Customer-facing teams that need call queues, music on hold and call recording.
- Growing businesses that need to add users quickly without new lines or hardware.
- Short-term or project-based offices, where numbers and extensions can move with the team.
Features included
Every plan includes 5000 minutes per seat and the features most businesses need:
- Voicemail and fax to email
- Call queues and call forwarding
- Music on hold and on-demand call recording
- Call protection and spend limits
- An entry-level handset on a 36-month term
The Extra plan adds a choice of handsets, a mobile app, instant messaging, a desktop app for unified communications and up to 7 years of call recording. The Premium plan adds advanced call recording options, premium handsets, priority support and full UC and collaboration tools. You'll find full pricing below.
Moving from an old phone system
Many businesses are still using a phone system installed years ago, often with a maintenance contract that costs more each year and a supplier who is hard to reach. Moving to hosted VoIP replaces that with a monthly per-seat price, no hardware to maintain on site and changes made in minutes rather than by booking an engineer.
You don't have to change how your business answers the phone. We can recreate your existing call routing, keep your published numbers and introduce new features such as mobile apps or call recording only where they help. Your team gets a short handover on the new handsets and apps, and we stay on hand after switchover to make adjustments.
How we deliver it
We start by understanding how calls flow through your business: who answers first, what happens when they're busy, when you open and close, and which numbers you need to keep. We then design call flows, queues and out-of-hours routing to match.
We check your internet connection to make sure it can carry voice reliably, supply and configure handsets, set up mobile and desktop apps and arrange the transfer of your existing numbers. On switchover day we make sure calls are flowing before we leave, and afterwards changes such as new users or new call routes are a quick request to our team.
